Organization’s Mission: MAG saves lives and builds futures by working with others to
reclaim land contaminated with the debris of conflict, to reduce the daily risk of death or
injury for civilians, and to create safe and secure conditions for development.

Overall Purpose of the Job
1. Ensure all utilities available to staff without any fault e.g. water, gas, electricity
2. Conduct repair related to plumbing and electricity
3. Replace the malfunction equipment / appliances / consumables
4. Ensure that all electricity, gas, plumbing installation are safe to use
Reporting Structure
The Maintenance Assistant will report to the Base Admin
Detailed Responsibilities
• Check all water, gas, electricity installations / appliance on daily and weekly basis
• Chalked out the preventive maintainance plan to avoid sudden breakdown
• Conduct the repairs related to electricity and plumbing
• Replace the malfunctioned devices / appliances / consumable e.g. replacing bulbs,
printer catridges etc.
• Check Air Conditioners and Heaters periodically to enusre they aer not faulty (AC
check before start of sumer and heater’s check before start of winter)
• In case of breakdown, assess the problem and call the relevant technician (where the
repair is beyond maintenance assistant capacity)
• Check the generator on daily basis (oil, filters, water level in raditaor) and mak sure
the cleaning
• Check the solar system on daily basis to avoid the breakdown or reduction in
efficiency.
• Ensure that all windows and doors functioning well and locks are functional
• Conduct the small furniture repairs, fixing of office / house fixtures (racks,
decorations, notice / white boards etc.)
• Assist Logistics Officer to procure office supplies related to maintance (gas, fuel,
filters, oil, bulb etc.)
• Enure that enough stock of Gas and Diesel available
• Ensure that fire extinguishers are filled and not expire
• Assist logsitics team in designing / specifying any construction work
• Assist logistics team in loading / offloading of material, arrangment of office, guest
houses and storage.

General Responsibilities:
• Work within the framework of Organization’s core values
• Act as an ambassador for MAG
• Contribute to other fundraising initiatives where appropriate.
• Participate in meetings where relevant.
• Work in compliance with Organization’s Policies, including but not limited to, Equal
Opportunities, Code of Conduct and Dignity at Work Policies.
• Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development
programmes.
• Undertake any other duties as may be required.
Person specification/ selection criteria:
The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
• Completed diploma in electrical / plumbing or civil engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance work (electrician, plumber etc.)
• Expert in electricity and plumbing work
• Knows about generators (maintenance, operations)
• Prefeably:
o Possess the knowledge / expertise about CCTV cameras
o Possess the knwoledge / expertise about WiFi networks
o Possess the knowledge/ expertise about AC reapirs
o Possess the knowledge / expertise about Solar Sytems (mainetance ,
installation)
• Able to speak, read and write English (preferable) and Arabic
• An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work
