The Opportunity:
- Support identification of beneficiaries and appropriate sites/location, and implementation of child protection program activities.
- Conduct trainings on CFS management, CFS activities, psychosocial support activities, and positive discipline for supervisors and facilitators, with the support of the Program Monitoring Officer.
- Daily monitoring visits to CFS to ensure that quality of implementation is up to organization and international standards, based on quality checklists and quality standards.
- Supervise the CFS Supervisor and ensure weekly activity schedules are in place to ensure that there are separate activities for young children and tweens and that activities take place every working day from 8-4pm.
- Ensure that CFS stocks are monitored regularly, and material requests are submitted in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the correct tool is used for all CP activities and data is accurately collected and entered into the database on a regular basis (weekly).
- Liaise with other SC departments and other stakeholders to avoid overlapping activities, and ensure coordination of schedules, particularly with Education.
- With the support of the program team, support mainstreaming and inclusion efforts.
- Work closely with parents and caregivers to develop parenting skills, understand and respond to psychosocial challenges that they and their children may face, and mobilize to improve community child protection mechanisms.
- Assist in organizing and implementing awareness sessions in local communities and friendly centers for children, adolescents, parents and community members.
- Facilitate, collect and report information on the general situation of conflict-affected children and their families in the community, with particular attention to the program targeting children and program objectives.
- Carry out regular monitoring visits to local communities to ensure regular contact with key stakeholders.
- Provide relevant information on progress and draft other weekly and monthly reports as required.
- Liaise on a daily basis with partners, the community, supervisors and colleagues to ensure the smooth running of programs.
- Prepare financial and administrative documents related to project activities, such as requisitions, procurement, etc
- Facilitate quarterly trainings and child protection monitoring based on the tool to collect and report information regarding the general situation of conflict-affected children and their families in the community, with particular attention to the child-targeted program and program objectives.
- Inform the direct supervisor of any challenges, difficulties and concerns in carrying out activities or issues in the social context.
- Any other duties within reason (based on skills and experience).
Human Resource Management
- Responsible for the direct management of the CFS Supervisors.
- Follow up on staff attendance, vacations and vacation coverage for staff under her supervision.
- Ensure regular feedback is provided to the staff under his/her responsibility and the evaluation process when needed.
- Support the application of disciplinary action if required.
coordination and representation
Coordinate with other sectors and departments as necessary.
Representing the organization on internal or external visits and calls when needed.
Ensure strict adherence to the principles of child protection and safety at all times, including respect for confidentiality and always acting in the best interest of the child
