Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the post include the following tasks and activities:
1. Support the development of the terms of reference for our projects on gender-based violence.
2. Draft and edit high quality policy relevant reports, recommendations, and presentations on the
status of gender-based violence.
3. Review and improve the quality of existing data collection tools/databases/reporting templates
on GBV specific activities.
4. Engage systematically with the MRD’s key stakeholders on gender-based violence to identify their
needs and provide, if requested, evidence-based input.
5. Provide GBV case management services through high quality and confidential interventions in line
with minimum standards for service provision and MRD’s case management SOPs. This will
include assessment of needs, development of an action plan for recovery, development of a safety
plan when needed, conducting referrals to relevant services, implementing the action plan, and
ensuring appropriate follow up and case closure when appropriate.
6. Deliver basic GBV training to MRD staff and non-GBV frontlines, including sessions on the GBV
core concepts and guiding principles and the safe identification and referral of GBV cases.
7. Conduct weekly meetings with the representatives of the partner organizations in NES.
8. Provide support for organizing visits, meeting, events, trainings and workshops.
9. Ensures that attending the important coordination forums and providing updates on their
activities in Syria. (meetings, suspension trackers, 4Ws matrix, and advocacy).
10. Ensure that the external and internal referral mechanism system is known, applied, and
monitored.
11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Education & Requirement
It is preferable for the applicant (e) to hold a degree in Psychology or another related field.
Experiences
• 2+ years of experience in providing GBV case management.
• Knowledge of GBV, child protection and PSS basic principles.
• Knowledge of GBV case management principles.
• Demonstrated experience in working on women's protection such as empowerment programs,
reproductive health, counseling, etc.
• Previous experience in working with communities, running GBV prevention curricula, raising
awareness and providing services in shelters and village settings.
• Good communication and psychosocial first aid skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluency English, and Arabic.
