The Roles & Responsibilities:

Guarantee an efficient and effective project implementation with the best outcomes for providing educational services for out-of-school children:
• Continuously check and implement comprehensive project education plans for each temporary learning center, ensuring alignment with project objectives and donor requirements.
• Monitor progress towards project goals, identify potential challenges, and proactively develop strategies to address them.
• Continuously question the most efficient use of project funds and provide suggestions for suitable upgrades for education and PSS sessions in schools
• Organize a work and implementation plan, continuously update procurement plans and ensure follow-up with all support departments for timely completion of internal processes
• Coordinate all steps with Head of Programmes (HoP) and Head of Office (HoO), ensure MEAL team is continuously involved and informed of all activities
Ensure continuous quality control of educational services:
• Establish and maintain quality standards for educational activities, materials, and teaching methodologies in line with best practices and project objectives.
• Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor the effectiveness of educational interventions and identify areas for improvement. Take action on MEAL report findings in coordination with HoP and HoO.
• Revise and implement systems for attendance control of teachers and quality measures of teacher performance for all classes and PSS sessions
• Revise and implement the performance of school children against the educational goals of the project
• Organize ongoing support and capacity building to education staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational services.
• Be responsible for all required programme documentation, data storage on the cloud structure and producing engaging visibility materials of the activities
Build and lead a cohesive team of education staff, promoting a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and personal development.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and mutual respect among team members.
• Ensure clear communication, participation, and compliance with the Code of conduct, core humanitarian values, and AN policies
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and address any issues or conflicts within the team in a timely manner.
• Be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and main supervision of a team of AN education staff, g teachers, facilitators, and support personnel, across multiple learning centers.
Cultivate positive relationships with key stakeholders, including internal communication to garner support and facilitate project implementation.
• Be responsible for providing inputs and drafts for annual reporting, quarterly donor reports, lead monthly working group reporting (4W), and working group meeting attendance
• Engage authorities proactively to address concerns, and solicit feedback after coordination with HoP, HoO Raqqa, and HoNES.
• Engage and foster a sense of ownership and commitment to project objectives within target communities and parents of attending school children
• Coordinate closely with local stakeholders to leverage resources, expertise, and networks to enhance the impact and sustainability of educational initiatives.
Proactively supervise the programmatic project expenses for efficient use of funding:
• Develop and manage budgets for educational activities, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to donor guidelines.
• Monitor project expenses, track financial transactions, and prepare regular budget reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and resource optimization without compromising the quality of educational services.
Support AN country mission as instructed
• Perform assigned tasks outside of the JD as per instruction of HoNES, HoP, or HoO depending on necessity as a senior staff member of the NES team
• Support any assessments, rapid interventions, responses, or proposal writing efforts of arche noVa in NES depending on qualification


Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, International Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Alternatively, any degree but proven experience in project implementation and management in the sector is required.
• Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in project management as manager, coordinator, or at least senior officer in the education sector
• Minimum of 5 years working experience in humanitarian sector in NES
• Strong understanding of educational principles and best practices, particularly in non-formal or informal learning settings.
• Experience in handling programmatic expenses and procurement processes (i.e. BoQ, tender evaluations)
• Experience with Psychosocial Support Activities and potential referral and support systems in NES preferred
• Familiarity with donor regulations and reporting requirements, particularly related to education projects preferred
• Familiarity with working group structures in NES preferred.
