About the position:
The role is to guard CVT compounds, warehouses, assets and staff, whilst abiding to NGO humanitarian principles to be unarmed, not using violence, and not to be affiliate with any armed groups. The main tasks are to detect, deter, observe and report. Security guards are responsible for supporting the Security Assistant (SA) (if exist), security officers and Security team leader (STL) regarding a to all security related matters within the field, office, warehouses.
Main responsibilities:
- Protect, using unarmed and non-violent means, CvT’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle parking, to prevent, detect or report signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Securely and politely, maintain access control, meaning receiving guests and visitors in a secure and polite way.
- Adhere to CvT rules, guard rules, code of conduct, and humanitarian principles of not being involved in any active conflict
- Follow up any security breaches and immediately report to all staff
- Patrol randomly or regularly building / warehouses and perimeter.
- Watch video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft or violent acts.
- Use CVT’s records to write the daily activities and, such as staff movement or staff attended, visitors, and complaints.
- Call Free Police or civil defence in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Security procedures & preparedness
- Know all of the active SOPs and CPs including: SOP for Medical Assistance, Evacuation Plan for your office and the CP on Medical Evacuation
- Ensure that SOPs and CPs are being followed in the office and communicate any shortcomings to the Security Manager.
Information collection & analysis
- Maintain awareness of the safety and security of CVT locations, routes, distribution points and other project sites and their surroundings and report to the SA.
- This job description could change as the role of the Security Department and of the Security Assistant develops. If SM make any changes on security guards matters, will by the senior security officer SSO.
Job Requirements:
- Proven working experience as a security guard or relevant experience.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Integrity and professionalism.
