CHF is seeking a professional for the position of Logistics Assistant for a multi-year USAID-funded project
“Growing Agriculture and Incomes in Syria (GROW) Activity” in Northeast Syria. This position reports to
the Senior Supply Chain Officer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Logistics Assistant will cover all the logistics processes in Al Sawa Office in Der Azzor : procurement,
fleet, and administration.
Responsibilities:
The overall responsibility of the Logistics Assistant will be to assist the Sr. Supply Chain Officer in all areas
and aspects of the logistics process. The logistics assistant is responsible for the following:
• Actively support all Logistics in Al-Sawa as delegated/ requested by the Sr. Supply Chain officer.
• Liaisons with the Logistics staff in NES offices as required.
• Ensure that CHF SOP for logistics and procurement is implemented and adhered to and that all
Logistics meet donor regulations and CHF standards and practices.
• Ensure integrated internal controls, timely payment of vendors, and full, auditable support
documentation.
• Support and assist the Sr. Supply Chain officer in the writing of contracts and other documentation
as required/ requested.
• Ensuring that a transparent and responsive logistics process is implemented and maintained.
• Complete logistics processes that are delegated on timely, accountable, and transparent manner.
• Follow up on the reception of invoices and deliverables and submit the payments.
• Update the logistics Tracking Sheet as required.
• Regularly revise/update list of suppliers based on different sector of goods, services, and work.
• Prepares Price analysis and submits it for approval to the Senior Officer.
• Routine communication, coordination, and planning with the relevant requesting staff/programs
regarding the order and delivery of supplies or services.
• Maintain supplier information for regularly purchased items and be informed of current local
market conditions.
Demonstrate a service-oriented approach to assisting the program team in understanding
requirements and completing tasks.
• Ensure that the log tracking sheet is continuously updated Carry out any other related duties as
assigned by your supervisor.
• Demonstrate a service-oriented approach to assisting the program team in understanding

• Support, when needed, the Senior Management Team in maintaining project files that are related
to procurement.
• Carry out any other related duties as might be reasonably requested by the Supervisor.
• To produce data or contribute relevant logistic updates and tracking related to operations
department reporting in all sub-sectors, storage/warehousing, leases, fleet, inventory, fuel
consumption, and procurement.
• Supervisory role of drivers and cleaners and general office administration.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A Secondary school is required, and a university degree is preferable, or a combination of relevant
field experience and education working in this sector is preferred.
• Good knowledge of accepted logistics and procurement practices and principles.
• At last, 2 years’ experience in the Operations sector (Logistics and procurements), past work with
local NGOs and/or international donor-funded programs preferred but not essential.
• High analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to solve problems in the field with suppliers.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Very good command of Excel and other database applications.
• Computer/word processing and standard office software skills
• Sets high standards for quality of work and consistently achieves established goals.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Have very good conflict management skills.
• Must be flexible, willing to perform assigned and additional duties and work irregular hours.
Language Skills:
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic.
• Good Command in written and spoken English.
