Mari Research and Development (MRD) is a non-for-profit civil society organization operating in
northeast Syria. It was established in 2018 and registered in Canada, France, and Erbil.

The Purpose of the Position
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Milk Processing & Pasteurizing Trainer to join our project team.
The Milk Processing & Pasteurizing Trainer will be responsible for providing training and technical
guidance to project beneficiaries involved in milk processing and pasteurization activities. The trainer
will play a crucial role in enhancing the knowledge and skills of the beneficiaries to ensure the production
of high-quality and safe dairy products. This position requires expertise in milk processing techniques,
pasteurization methods, and quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities
1. Develop a comprehensive training curriculum and materials on milk processing and
pasteurization techniques suitable for the project beneficiaries.
2. Conduct training sessions to impart practical knowledge and skills to the beneficiaries, covering
topics such as milk handling, milk processing equipment operation, pasteurization techniques,
and quality control measures.
3. Demonstrate best practices and techniques related to milk processing and pasteurization in a
clear and understandable manner.
4. Assess the training needs of the beneficiaries and tailor training programs to meet their specific
requirements and skill levels.

5. Provide on-site training and support to beneficiaries at their milk processing facilities, ensuring
that they adhere to proper hygiene and safety standards.
6. Monitor the progress of the beneficiaries and provide ongoing guidance and feedback to help
improve their milk processing and pasteurization practices.
7. Collaborate with other project staff and stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of milk
processing and pasteurization activities within the project framework.
8. Stay updated on the latest advancements and trends in milk processing and pasteurization
techniques and share relevant information with the beneficiaries.
9. Document and report on the training activities, progress, and challenges encountered during the
implementation of the milk processing and pasteurization training component.
10. Ensure compliance with project objectives, donor requirements, and relevant regulations
regarding milk processing and pasteurization.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering, specializing in food industries - Preferred.

• Proven experience in milk processing and pasteurization, preferably in a training or capacity-
building role.

• Strong knowledge of milk processing techniques, pasteurization methods, and quality control
measures.
• Familiarity with the dairy industry, including milk quality standards, sanitation practices, and
product safety regulations.
• Excellent training and facilitation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and effective training
sessions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with beneficiaries and
effectively transfer knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and problem-solving
mindset.
• Strong organizational skills to plan and manage training schedules and materials.
