General Description:
The Field Logistics Officer will play a critical role in the implementation and oversight of logistics and
supply chain operations in the field. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient procurement,
transportation, and distribution of goods and materials, supporting our humanitarian and development
projects.
Academic Requirements:
Professional diploma or university degree in a Logistics field (Supply, IT, Purchase, etc.)
Required Skills & Abilities:
· Effective time management and ability to work under pressure in a remote setting
Main Responsibilities:
Procurement and supply:
· Coordinate all local procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating contracts.
· Ensure procurement is carried out in compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
· Maintain detailed procurement records and documentation.
Inventory management:
· Oversee and manage inventory levels at field locations, ensuring adequate stock for ongoing projects.
Transportation and distribution:
Warehousing and storage:
Documentation and reporting:
· Maintain accurate records of logistics activities in the field, including procurement, shipments,
and inventory.
· Prepare and submit regular reports on logistics performance, cost analysis, and key metrics.
· Implement documentation and record-keeping best practices.
· Update procurement tracker.
Compliance and regulations:
· Ensure strict adherence to all relevant international and local regulations, including customs,
import/export requirements, and safety standards.
· Monitor changes in regulations and adapt logistics processes accordingly.
· Perform purchase activities as per AFH procurement procedures.
· Any other tasks requested by line manager.
