As part of its Syria response, the IRC has programs to support women and girls throughout Al-Hasakeh and Ar-Raqqa governorates in Syria. The WPE Hairdressing Trainer works within the women and girls’ safe spaces and the community to teach women and girls in Hazima the basics in makeup and hairdressing styles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a prior knowledge evaluation of recipients.
- Distribute recipients according to age and level of knowledge.
- Develop curricula for levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced).
- Teach women and girls about hairdressing.
- Teach girls and women to maintain a healthy hair.
- Teach girls and women how to select the right color, shampoo, mask, and conditioner.
- Teach girls and women basic haircutting skills.
- Teaching women and girls about skin care and masks.
- Teach girls and women to do good face makeup.
- Ability to adjust teaching methods according to recipient levels.
- Provide information to recipients interactively.
Other duties and responsibilities
- Complete attendance sheets for relevant activities and contribute to monthly activity reports, according to guidance provided by the Women’s Center Officer, and supply information on a weekly basis to the Women’s Center Officer in-line with deadlines.
- Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partner and other sector staff.
