ROLE PURPOSE:

The Data Quality Assistant  under the supervision of Data Management Officer is responsible for helping to ensure that the process of data & information management related to the program teams is properly maintained and updated, producing solid and integrated information as well as producing reports covering team activities and programs for Program Manager, M&E Units and other related units.

 

 

The role reports to:  Data management Officer

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABLITY

 

  • Review field data for completeness and accuracy and develop report of data quality
  • Enter complete data of programs in the database
  • Under supervision of Data Management Officer, randomly review the entered data
  •  Cleaning data and making ready for uploading into database and analysis  
  •  Review data received from partners and share data quality report with Data management Officer
  • Clean the received data in guidance from Data management Officer
  • Generate monthly data quality status report.
  • Perform weekly back-up of data entered on a hard drive.
  • Other duties as assigned and agreed upon.
  • Management and archive files on Google drive.

 

 

Capacity building

  • Train field staff/partners on qualitative and quantitative data collection tools, and other processes as required.
  • Assist the Data Management Officer in improving Data management initiative by identifying good practices, field tested lessons learned, and creative recommendations; share with and encourage staff to incorporate these in their daily work

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma Certificate in Information Technology

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

 

  • Must be able to work independently and show initiative.
  • Previous work experience with an NGO is preferable.
  • Up to one year’s experience working on the computer in Microsoft Office applications including Excel is required. Skills in other programs, such as Access or statistical packages are also desirable.
  • Excellent skills using the computer keyboard (numbers and letters).
  • Arabic language oral and written is required.
  • Must be able to type in Arabic
  • Attention to detail and patience to double check data entry is essential.
  • Good basic math skills are essential and general knowledge of statistical principles is preferred.
  • Basic spoken English is a plus.

  • Proven ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and be accountable for results
  • The ability to multi-task, innovate, and effectively communicate key information in support of changing program activities is necessary.
  • A willingness to take initiative, creatively solve problems, juggle multiple priorities under pressure, and to calmly and diplomatically deal with unexpected and sudden events impacting program operations is also essential.
  • A learning approach to work with excellent capacity building skills
  • Attention to detail and patience to double check data results
