Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills:
- 4 to 5 years relevant work experience in working with NGOs.
- Effective skills in coordination, organization, prioritization, communication, and negotiation.
- Self-motivated and takes initiative.
- Excellent English and Arabic (Kurdish desirable).
- Ability to travel in North East Syria based on NGO SOPs.
- Strong understanding of NGO programs, and preferably direct programmatic experience.
- Experience in humanitarian coordination strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of international humanitarian response.
- Strong knowledge of and adherence to humanitarian principles.
- Strong knowledge of local governance structures.
- Strong reporting and writing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Essential Responsibilities:
COORDINATION
Support the lnter-Sector Working Group Coordinator in:
- Ensuring that partners and sectors work collectively towards a complementarity, coherence and harmonization of assistance delivery.
- Leading on collective identification of needs, gaps and response in collaboration with NES Sector Coordinators and Working Groups.
- Strengthening the monitoring of the operationalization of response plans and hence supporting Sector Coordinators and partners in tailoring response plans to the needs and gaps.
- Strengthening area-based coordination mechanisms where required in collaboration with NES Sector Working Groups.
- Charing area-based coordination meetings, such as the Dei Ez Zot coordination meeting, in an inclusive manner taking local NGOs into consideration.
REPORTING AND REPRESENTATION
- ln coordination with the NES Forum Management and Liaison Team maintains a healthy relationship with local governance structures as required , support with technical meetings and enhance knowledge of INGO response, including humanitarian principles and standards, in order to maintain and—where needed—broaden access and operational space.
- Provide regular reporting at the inter-sectoral level including field visit reports, situation reports and emergency updates in coordination with the lnter Sector Working Group Coordinator, the lnter-Sector Working Group and NES Forum information Management Unit.
- Represent the Inter Sector Working Group Coordinator in various meetings in platforms especially in harder to reach areas, including Raqqa, Deir ez Zor and Aleppo Governorate.

Works Directly With: NES Forum IM and liaison teams, NES Forum Sector Coordinators, NES NGOs.
