Action for Humanity Organization is a non-governmental, non-profit, neutral organization that looks forward to rebuilding human life and building a generation capable of advancing society by providing them with all the necessities of life such as food, medicine, education, medical aid, and water.


Position: Project Officer Livelihood

Direct manager position: Project Manager.

Project/ Workplace: Northeast Syria, Deir Ezzor – Hajin. 

Advertising start date: 15/12/2024.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

A degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Social Sciences, Community Development or a related field

Minimum 2 years of experience in livelihoods programs, entrepreneurship, vocational training, job placement, social work, and community mobilization

 

 

Skills & Abilities

 

Effective Communication Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

English (professional/working level)

Arabic (native/professional written and spoken)


 

General Work Experience:

 

Demonstrated experience in relevant livelihood projects.

Excellent writing and communication skills in English, and Arabic.

Experience in project management (e.g., monitoring, reporting).

 

GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


 

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with management and project staff.

Build and maintain relationships with beneficiary communities; contribute to maintenance of relationships with other relevant stakeholders.

Ensure beneficiaries are consulted and their views are considered during all stages of project implementation.

Support ongoing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities, in accordance with the project’s MEAL plan with a particular emphasis on documenting successes, challenges, and lessons learned.

Support the MEAL team with the baseline and final evaluations.

Support the Project Coordinator ensures timely preparation of high-quality donor/partner reports, as well as other reports needed/required by the local government, donors, clusters, the region, or headquarters as per reporting schedule.

Ensure child protection policies and code of conduct are being followed and promote appropriate health and safety mechanisms.

Take part in regular team and staff meetings.

Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Control the operation part of the budget and raise PRs according to the procurement plan.

Coordinate and proactively engage with the project team at the project sites in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of activities, which may engage in direct implementation as well.

Provide regular updates on progress, priorities and constraints and assist with the administrative duties related to the running of livelihoods activities in the project.

Ensure activities are completed with quality and within time and report any concerns to the project coordinator.

Ensure that the M&E systems are effectively implemented in each project site, and its tools are in place. This includes the systematic implementation and follow-up on agreed technical livelihood quality benchmarks.

Actively support the development and implementation of an effective Accountability Mechanism of the project (/partner), with the focus on a) Adequate information sharing, b) Complaints and Feedback Mechanism and c) Safe, Meaningful and Ethical Participation, in collaboration with SC’s and partner’s Accountability officer/focal point.

Contribute to the development of high-quality concept notes and proposals, in collaboration with other program staff.

Perform other duties as required by the Project Coordinator, and the Head of Programming.
