Set-up and operational monitoring of Nutrition promotion activities

  • With the support of the FSL PM and DPM take part in logistical and administrative organization and the planning and preparation of Nutrition related activities.
  • Support the FSL DPM in developing the Technical Specification for the Nutrition items in the further phases of the project.
  • In close collaboration with the other FSL colleagues, in addition to Hygiene Promotion and WASH department, develop the nutrition promotional messages, and design the educational messaging including training materials as required.
  • Organize, plan, and supervise community participation, especially intervention in schools and Households targeted with the Food Assistance activities in Raqqa city.
  • Monitor progress of Nutrition cases (using Nutrition tools) supported monthly to document progress and impact of the intervention in coordination with the Nutrition partner.
  • Provide clear counselling to Target beneficiaries on how to take the provided rations and conduct appetite test as necessary
  • Share the nutrition promotion messages with the management and collaborate with the project staff in other bases on lessons and information.
  • Manage the supply of worksite materials by collaborating with the logistics department.
  • Ensure SI safety and security rules are always respected – including ensuring people under his/ her supervision and the population adhere to the rules.
  • Support all the FSL department activities when needed, and act as a part of the department’s whole responsibility.

Set up and operational monitoring of distributions

  • Support the Food basket distribution in all its phases including participation in PDM’s alongside the MEAL team
  • Ensure that each registered, identified beneficiary has benefited from distributions and promotion sessions.
  • Gather and replace materials used during distribution.
  • Reporting/communication /representation
  • Keep his/her monitoring tools and files archived in the Solidarités office, accessible to his/her direct line manager and/or project manager
  • Take part in seminars and workshops related to the carrying out of activities and to project objectives.
  • Report to FSL deputy PM regarding the development of activities and specific tasks that he/she has been assigned, any problems encountered and the quality of relations with the beneficiaries.
  • Report back all information or problems linked to his/her activity, Solidarités programs or safety issues.
  • Under the supervision of the FSL DPM, participate in the drafting of distribution reports.
  • Listen to the local population and authorities in order to identify any needs, complaints, or major events which could affect the activities of Solidarités
  • Participate in the analyses of the humanitarian situation by taking into account protection issues/Do No Harm to the population especially as it concerns nutrition issues.

المعرفة والمهارات المطلوبة

Studies: Bachelor’s Degree. Degree in nutrition, health, food security, food technologies is preferable.

Experience:

Professional Experience:

–           Mandatory minimum 1 year of experience in similar position in INGOs

–           Mandatory minimum 1 year of experience in nutrition programming and / or hygiene promotion

Desired Experience: Previous experience with international NGOs in implementing similar tasks and duties.

Languages: Good command in English, Arabic is mandatory

IT: good command in MS office
