WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE?

In the strategic period 2022-2025, NRC will continue consolidating and expanding its access in Syria to support the protection and resilience of displacement-affected populations through inspiring advocacy and efficient response, anchored on evidence-based decision-making, partnership with national responders and community-driven processes. NRC will rely on highly competent and committed staff who embraces NRC core values, protection policies, and code of conduct, and a fit-for-purpose organizational structure to meet the strategic objectives.

 

The Monitoring & Evaluation Technical Assistant will act as the program data focal point for core competencies within an area office. S/he will support the program with data collection, management, storage, and reporting. S/he will support the various data collection exercises undertaken by the program on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  1.  Implement activities according to NRC SCO M&E SOP and Plan.
  2.  Promote internal learning to help improve NRC SCO’s projects and activities.
  3. Process information and data to address indicator reporting requirements.
  4. Support the output and outcome monitoring activities in the Area Office.
  5. Carry out NRC activities in accordance with NRC Safe and Inclusive Programming (SIP) guidelines, policies, and Syria-specific explanatory notes.
  6. Regularly monitor and administer output data collected by implementing teams and provide guidance to NRC and partner teams.
  7. Analyze the available programme data (produce monthly reports, respond to ad hoc requests from supervisors or colleagues, support in compiling other related reports).
  8. Ensure data quality through implementing regular data quality checks and audits (give feedback to supervisor also in the monthly report about this aspect).
  9. Provide regular feedback on databases to meet the information needs of project staff and improve the data processing and reporting capacity (share DB with relevant   people in office in coordination with representative).
  10. Provide basic training in database use and update for NRC Mobile Resources (regular feedback, ad hoc trainings on data capture etc.).
  11. Conduct field spot checks and visits, prepare reports based on those.
  12. Support outcome monitoring in the field and remotely by data collection, support and training enumerators, data cleaning, and analysis

المعرفة والمهارات المطلوبة

What qualifications and work experiences are we looking for? 

  1. University degree (preferably in a relevant field).
  2. Experience of minimum 1 year with qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, use of data management techniques.
  3. Experience in the humanitarian sector (preferable).
  4. Understanding of key privacy and information management ethical concerns and ability to manage information management activities within ethical guidelines.
  5. Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  6. Good computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel).
  7. Fluency in Arabic both written and verbal.
  8. Fluency in Kurdish verbal (preferable)
  9.  Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Syria.
