General objective of the position:
The Clinical Supervisor is a vital member of the Nesma Institution’s Psychiatric Nursing Program. This role involves providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to nursing students in psychiatric mental health settings. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that students receive high-quality clinical education, adhere to ethical standards, and develop essential skills for their future careers
Position Overview:
As a Clinical Supervisor, you will work closely with nursing students, faculty, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance the clinical education program. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to the growth and success of future psychiatric nurses
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Clinical Supervision:Conduct clinical supervision in various psychiatric mental health settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community-based facilities.Observe nursing students during their clinical rotations, providing constructive feedback and guidance.Ensure students’ compliance with clinical practice standards, ethical guidelines, and institutional policies.Assessment and Evaluation:Evaluate students’ clinical performance through direct observation, case studies, and other assessments.Assess students’ knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities.Provide timely feedback to enhance their clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.Collaboration:Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.Facilitate communication between students and clinical staff to optimize learning experiences.Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of student performance, clinical hours, and completed assignments.Document progress, areas for improvement, and achievements.Education and Mentorship:Assist students in developing clinical competencies, emphasizing evidence-based practices.Foster a supportive learning environment by addressing students’ questions and concerns.Encourage professional growth and lifelong learning.Quality Improvement:Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.Identify areas for enhancement and propose strategies to enhance the clinical education program.Logistic needs and supply: Raise all needs from logistic side to the admin line manager for EU-Project manager.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in nursing, psychiatric nursing, or any related field.Active nursing license in the relevant jurisdiction.Previous clinical experience in psychiatric mental health settings (Number of years is an asset).Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Commitment to promoting student success and excellence in psychiatric nursing practice.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience as a clinical supervisor or preceptor.Familiarity with evidence-based practices in psychiatric nursing.Passion for teaching and mentoring future psychiatric nurses.
